1999-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee The First Gen of WJ

This year model was referred to as WJ. A standard variant included 4.0-litre engine. This unit produced up to 195 horsepower. V8 type could output around 230 horsepower. It was an RWD production with 4 speeds. AWD could opt.

2000 model didn’t have anything interesting to boast about.
The most spectacular thing was added in 2001. It was 5-speed transmission. Only V8 vehicles had it. The limited trim was provided wheels of 17 inches.

This series was released with new trims. Sports variant had leather interior and new V8 with 265 horsepower. In addition, there were new airbags and technologies to monitor the pressure of tires. Those who chose Special Edition could get upgraded CD changer.

2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee New Designation - WK

The shape changing year. This SUV came with new engines. These were the V6 unit with 3.7 liters and 210 horsepower and two V8s with 4.7 and 5.7 liters providing 230 and 325 horsepower. All of them used transmission of five speeds. It was AWD production with parking assistance, improved infotainment system and front seats which were heated.

2006 model year was produced as Overland with V8 unit offering 5.7 liters. There also was a powerful variant with 6.1-litre V8 good for 425 horsepower.
Next year vehicle offered convenient airbags as the standard choice along with a backup camera. There was an optional engine of turbodiesel type.

In 2008 the car received 305-horsepower V8 with 4.7 liters. A telescopic steering wheel was something new for the series.
In 2009 this SUV was produced with a new iPod system while 2010 model lost Overland variant.

2011-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee - All-new WK2

The era of a redesign. Laredo, Limited and Overland trims arrived at the market. New engines were the V6 unit of 290 horsepower and V8 unit of 360 horsepower. RWD model was a basic one but you could opt for AWD. The car was equipped with headlights of xenon type and front seats which were ventilated.

In 2012 this SUV came as Overland looking luxurious and offering cruise control of adaptive kind, the system to monitor blind spots, wheels of 20 inches, and better navigation. SRT8 was focused on performance and had V8 unit with 470 horsepower.
2013 model had Trailhawk model made for off-road experience.

2014-2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Facelift
