New Subaru Forester 2019 Is Likely To Be Redesigned As Viziv Concept
Subaru first introduced the Forester to the world back in 1997, it has changed a reasonable amount since that first debut, but you can easily see the bloodlines tracing the way back to the late 90’s car. The model is now what we would call a compact crossover and has gone on to sell well for Subaru, even picking up a number of prestigious auto awards over the last few years – Subaru have really hit the right recipe with the Forester.
Subaru have released just enough information to the public regarding the new Forester to make them want to know more, and to give them the insight as to what to expect should they be looking to purchase a new model.
Redesign in Viziv Style
|Contents||As for the exterior; Subaru have gone for the usual choices to upgrade, meaning that the front end will get a restyled grille and front bumper and there will be new HID technology lighting fitted at the front also, capable of automatically adjusting with changing weather conditions.
Inside will be similar to what we already know, save for an updated dashboard and touchscreen infotainment system.
The 2019 Forester concept will be built on the Viziv 2 platform, which was first shown to the public all the way back in 2014. This means that the new model will be larger but will weigh less thanks to the lightweight and high-grade materials used in the platform. This platform will also allow for the incorporation of a hybrid system should Subaru take that route.
2019 Subaru Forester Release date and Price
Strangely, we have a very specific release date for the next Subaru Forester redesign – we normally get told what quarter to expect it, perhaps even a month, but the 2019 Forester will hit the showrooms on November 13th 2018. It’s thought that it will make its debut earlier in the year at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Subaru haven’t said just how much the new model will cost, but the current model sells for just under $23,000 as a starting price, we think the new one will be more expensive, by quite some margin, so expect to see the base model selling for in the region of $26,000 - $27,000.
As standard, the Subaru Forester 2019 model year will have the 4-cylinder 2.5 liter Boxer engine which is enough for 190 BHP, or you could upgrade to the 2.0 liter turbo charged engine with 250 BHP and 258 lb/ft of torque. Both engines will be coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, but there is a CVT style transmission option.
2019 Subaru Forester XT
We could expect XT Forester once again a top-end trim level, features more powerful engine, rich equipment like power seats and leather upholstery. The exact equipment list will be available right after the actual release date of the car.
2019 Subaru Forester Spy Photos
New generation of Forester has spied in public roads testing in Michigan state, completely disgused. However, we could see that the overall body shape remain relatively the same as before, so it is possible that next model won't change its concept too much.
The black car spied testing in Japan, we could see the same form, but just a little bit less disgused. So, Subaru Forester body style changes are not expected.
