2018 Volkswagen Arteon - The New CC Successor
The Volkswagen CC was VW’s first attempt at a four door coupe, introduced in 2008 and it sold … OK ish numbers.
Truth be told, it was never that popular, but VW persisted with it for a number of years, but for the 10th anniversary, Volkswagen will be renaming it and restyling it; the renderings and design sketches that Volkswagen have released make the new Volkswagen CC 2018 look good.
The name supposedly comes from a blend of Eon and Art; Arteon. How very original.
2018 Volkswagen Arteon Release date
2018 VW CC release date (we mean Arteon) is expected in 2017. The 2018 Volkswagen Arteon will be shown for the first time at the Geneva Auto Show in March 2017, with an expected release date for later the same year, despite the fact that VW have been testing the new Arteon under camouflage for some time.
2018 VW Arteon Price
Volkswagen haven’t yet announced where the Arteon will sit in the pricing structure, but given that it’s a direct replacement for the Volkswagen CC, we’d expect similar pricing; we think that the base model will start in the low to mid $30,000’s; let’s hedge our bets and go for $32,500.
2018 Volkswagen Arteon Redesign and Changes
This is a completely new model, given that VW are currently struggling financially, we’d have to wonder how wise that would be, especially for such a niche market. Having said that, the old saying of ‘speculate to accumulate’ could have been made for this situation.
There is no doubting that the Arteon is a good looking automobile, perhaps enough to give the Passat class market a good run for the money, we think that VW will take on the competition and leave them wondering what happened.

2018 Volkswagen Arteon Specs
We have very few official details from Volkswagen, we would guess that the base model will be fitted with a relatively small turbo charged engine (great for gas mileage) and that there will of course be a range topping sporty version, perhaps with the 3.0 liter V6 seen in the concept.
The renderings show a full width grille, blending in to the LED headlamps, sporty bumpers and wide air intakes, then a smooth, flowing line right to the rear of the car, with a little ducktail rear spoiler on the hatchback lid (although built on the same platform as the Passat, it won’t be available as a sedan, only a hatchback). The 2018 Arteon looks to be lower and longer than the outgoing CC, this is mainly thanks to the stretched MQB platform (as used in the Passat).
Front wheel drive will be standard, all-wheel drive will be optional.
We love the look of this new Volkswagen Arteon, what do you think to it? Let us know in the comments
