2018 Porsche 911 Redesign
Porsche still does not provide enough information on redesigned version of 2018 Porsche 911 changes, but it is known that the body will made much lighter now. The whole idea of the new model is to make it maximally light and economical. Moreover, the car is definitely going to have more attractive and futuristic body. The headlights are going to be of a more modern type. The updated LED highlights will become more functional.
2018 Porsche 911 Modifications
Only the very first 911s had one modification. The modern family of sportscars from Stuttgart has a wide variety of modifications. The standard Carrera, Carrera 4 and 4S, Targa; racing-oriented versions like GT3, GT2, each with lightweight version (RS); ultimate supercars like Turbo and Turbo S.
2018 Porsche 911 Carrera S
That is a slightly charged version of standard 911, equipped with the same 3-liter flat six engine, but produce 414 HP instead of 365 HP in standard Carrera. This modification is also available with all-wheel drive version.
2018 Porsche 911 4S
4S is the same as 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera S, but only with a AWD system fitted, to provide better performance on slippery roads, and in severe weather conditions. The powertrain is the same, but due to all-wheel drive presence, the car is a bit heavier.
2018 Porsche 911 Targa
Targa is not only a name for one of the 911 modifications, but also a unique bodytype - combination of coupe and convertible features. Such type of body has removable middle part of the roof, which provide a real convertible experience, but with the practicality of coupe. In terms of specifications, 911 Targa is equal to Carrera.
2018 Porsche 911 GTS
GTS is a whole new modification made for those who need some extra power and tweaks to be the fastest in the road and on the track, but without much charge. Or simply who think 911 Turbos are overpowered. 2018 Porsche 911 GTS rumors suggests that it will replace the current 911 R version, with the same track-oriented features.
The powertrain choice is still unknown, but the car will get classic 6-speed manual instead of robotic PDK, and more likely a turbocharged engine, with the output over 450 HP.
2018 Porsche 911 Turbo
Just like before, 911 turbo is one of the most powerful version of the Porsche coupe. It has larger 3.8-liter B6 engine, equipped with a high-pressure turbocharge unit. This leads to 533 HP of power and astonishing acceleration time of 3 seconds flat.
2018 Porsche 911 Turbo S
Turbo S is the most powerful Porsche among the turbocharged versions of the car. Porsche 911 Turbo S 2018 has twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter unit with the classic opposite layout, producing over 570 HP, which makes it a real hypercar, in the same league as most Ferraris and Lambos. Turbo and Turbo S also have different styling - front and rear bumpers, air intakes and rear spoiler - all is different in comparison with standard 911s.
2018 Porsche 911 GT3
GT3 is basically a race-oriented version of standard 911. It features big rear spoiler, front spoiler, a few design changes, and what is more important - tweaked engine, which produce 475 HP from the 3.8-liter flat six.
2018 Porsche 911 GT3 RS
The car is a track day oriented version of GT3, which debuted last year in Geneva. The car has a completely redesigned engine - it is still a classic Porsche layout, but the displacement was increased to 4 liters, producing 500 HP. The interior is spartan - full bucket seats, racing seatbelts and minimal set of equipment. It also has roll cage installed, so it is basically a road legal racecar.
2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS
GT2 RS is just a one step closer to a real racecar. It is basically the GT3 RS, but with even more powerful engine. The previous generation of the car was discontinued in 2012, and we don't know whether Porsche plan to introduce the new model or not. The 2012 model was a real hardcore - 612 HP, lightweight body, 205 MPH top speed means spectacular results on a racetrack. We expect nearly the same figures for 2018 model year 911 GT2 RS.

2018 Porsche 911 Engine
As far as we know the new model is going to use a different type of engine. The new unit will run on 3.0 liter engine of petrol type which is supercharged. This engine is often compared with Cayenne and Panamera ones. However, there is higher version of the engine used. Thus, you can find 4.6 liter V8 under the bonnet of 911 which produces 887 horsepower and 944 lb-ft of torque. Nonetheless, the car is going to be of a hybrid type which means that engine type still can be changed.
2018 Porsche 911 Interior
The upcoming model also keeps its inside part in secret. It is still unknown which features will be updated and installed. Neither do we know anything about upholstery, safety features and dashboard. However, the whole idea is to make the interior luxurious and comfortable.
2018 Porsche 911 Overview
Despite information leaks and few official announcements there is still not much that we know about upcoming 2018 Porsche 911. The car is going to change its exterior to look more futuristic and untypical but there is not a slightest clue by what means it will be done. The interior part is going to become more comfortable, that is true, however we do need to know which equipment will be used and which systems. The engine aspect also gives a lot of questions. Will the announced engines be finally used or they will be changed? What type of transmission will this hybrid use? At least we can prognoses the possible price of the car which is rather reasonable for high class hybrid.
