New 2018 Opel Insignia features fresh styling
The 2018 Opel Insignia will be an important car for Opel; it will be a worldwide product (under different brands) – In Great Britain, it will be sold under the Vauxhall brand, Australia will see it badged as Holden and the US will see it as Buick. Confusing?
Whether you’re looking at a Buick Regal or Opel Insignia, the new car just has to perform well, both as a car and in terms of sales; Opel / Buick / Vauxhall / Holden can’t afford for it to flop.
2018 Opel Insignia Release date
We’ve seen plenty of spy shots of the new 2018 Insignia, and although it’s still camouflaged, you can see that it’s pretty much production ready - we should see the debut at the Paris Motor Show in October, with sales happening shortly after that. So, the release date expected in late 2017.
2018 Opel Insignia Price
There has been no official announcements regarding pricing, but the current generation sells for around $27,000 for the base model, rising to about $45,000 for the full loaded version. We expect to see a minor price hike for the base model, so expect to see new Insignia 2018 selling for around $28,000.

2018 Opel Insignia Redesign and Changes
First up, the wheelbase is nearly 4” longer than its predecessor, although that doesn’t equate to much of an increase in legroom for the occupants. It does however make entry in to the rear a little easier. While it’s quite difficult to see through the camouflage, it looks like the rear has been significantly redesigned and changed, the trunk is bigger and the trunk lid has a small amount of aero work added to it.
As per pretty much any facelift or next gen model, the lights (now full LED), bumpers and grille have been restyled as have the tail lights, which now have a two-piece design which gives a 3D effect.
Despite the increase in wheelbase, it’s said that the new model will be significantly lighter, some say up to 440 lbs lighter, but we don’t think that’s correct – to lose 440 lbs would mean a severe diet.

2018 Opel Insignia SUV
There are some rumors that Opel will use Insignia designation for a new mid-size SUV, on the same platform as Buick Envision. However, there is neither confirmation of this rumor, no spy shots of the upcoming vehicle. We think that appearance of new Opel SUV is under question.
2018 Opel Insignia Wagon
Just like the previous generation of the car, the next 2018 Insignia will likely get a new station wagon version. However, we don't expect it to show up until late 2018. It is all because manufacturer need to change the body of a car, and find out if there is certain demand for a such vehicle.
2018 Opel Insignia Specs and Equipment
We know nothing as to what Opel are doing for the powertrain, but if they decide to keep the current generation powertrain, we’ll see a 2.4 liter 4-cylinder with a mild hybrid system or a 2.0 liter turbo charged 4-cylinder which produces 259 BHP on Insignia Opel 2018.
Tech fitted may include OnStar, Wi-Fi, large digital display and maybe a Heads Up Display system, although of course, nothing has been confirmed!
