New Lexus GS 2018 Will Get A Lot Of Minor Improvements
Lexus just seem to do no wrong; their vehicles look great (we love the latest styling), and the luxury detailing and quality just gets better with every new model and release. If you’re wanting something with a little luxury, sporting looks (without being over the top), enough power to be interesting and build quality that you can only find in Japanese cars, then 2018 Lexus GS 350 has to be the number one choice.
We’ve said before that the way Lexus has styled their cars is rather unique, being sporty and aggressive with sharp styling that isn’t all … too much. It is a hard trick to pull off, but somehow, Lexus always seems to manage it with style.
|Contents||Truth be told, little official information exists about the new Dakota – we don’t mean about the specs, but whether the truck is actually going to make it to production. Industry insiders tell us that it will, and if speculation is anything to go-by, it would be a popular move for Dodge – we also feel that the time is right for a comeback.|
2018 Lexus GS F
GS F is the extreme version of mid-size sedan. It challenges M5 and E63 AMG cars. The extreme version of Lexus GS is equipped with 5-liter V8, producing just 467 HP. It is less than main rivals, but it is much more affordable. There is some Lexus GS 2018 redesigned rumors about power increase for the F version of the car.
Minimal Changes Without Major Redesign
In this sort of vehicle, you need a minimum of 250 BHP, thankfully, Lexus have fitted the 2018 GS next generation with a 3.5 liter V6 motor which makes around 306 BHP and 277 ft//lb of torque, which is exactly what it needs; it seems that America loves a V6, perhaps even more so than the ubiquitous V8. Power will be sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed auto transmission, but there will be a semi-auto function with steering wheel paddles, allowing for a certain degree of choice of gear.
We don’t think that much will change with the new model, of course, the bumpers, grille and headlamps will be changed, maybe an extra color or two, but overall, the GS looks great anyway – there is little point in changing the basic concept of the styling which it shares throughout the whole of the Lexus range. But no one knows when will Lexus redesign the GS completely.
Expect to see the usual range of technology fitted included pre-collision systems, lane assist, parking guidance, rear view camera, adaptive cruise control, Wi-Fi, USB, Bluetooth, auto start / stop … Lexus have never short changed us when it comes to features, the newer models will get even more.
2018 Lexus GS 350 Release date and Price
We think that the new 2018 Lexus GS 350 redesign will be available in the showrooms for late 2017, around September would be our best guess. Looking at the renderings, we’d say it’s definitely worth waiting for.
Lexus don’t do cheap, but then you don’t buy a Lexus if you’re looking for a cheap daily runner. We think that the new GS will have a small hike on the price of the current model, so expect the base model to be in the region of $61,000 and up.
Configurations and Modifications
Just like the current model, 2018 Lexus GS redesigned will get 6 versions - basic GS Turbo, GS 350 and GS 450h, each of which has F sport versions.
The basic GS 2018 will get a turbocharged 2-liter engine, producing mere 241 HP. The car is available only with RWD. The car has rich equipment list, including keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, power front seats, sunroof, rear-view camera, 12-speaker sound system and many more.
2018 Lexus GS 350 redesign has a more powerful naturally-aspirated engine. The standard equipment list has no difference in comparison with Turbo modification. For Lexus GS 350 2018 much more options could be ordered. 2018 Lexus GS 350 AWD has the same specs but with AWD layout.
2018 Lexus GS F sport
F sport package available for all modifications of Lexus GS 2018, has only a few features. This is similar to M-package and AMG package - retuned suspension, different front and rear bumpers, badges, larger wheels. This package is available for 2018 GS 350, hybrid 450h and basic Turbo.
2018 Lexus GS hybrid is based on the same engine as 350 model, but mated with electic motor and new transmission.
