2018 Kia Soul No Hurry to Expose Its Secrets
While not exactly the same as waiting for news from the latest supercar manufacturer, or even luxury SUV, Kia have recently been seen testing their new Kia Soul out on the highway, it’s hard to gain much information thanks to the heavy camouflage (padded to give further concealment), but it seems that Kia will be updating this popular little auto to keep it fresh; it’s a very competitive market that the Soul is in, Kia need it to sell in high volume for it to be a viable product.
The main rivals for the car are Nissan Juke, Buick Encore, Honda HR-V.
2018 Kia Soul Release date
Kia haven’t actually released anything official, but we think that the new 2018 Kia Soul will be available from late 2017, maybe just in the third quarter if the timings work out for them.
2018 Kia Soul Price
The current pricing structure is expected to stay, perhaps with just a few hundred dollars added on for inflation, this means that we’ll see prices similar to the current models: $15,190, $18,690 and $20,790 for the fully loaded top level 2018 Soul.

2018 Kia Soul Redesign and Changes
It’s difficult to see just what Kia have or haven’t updated thanks mainly to the super padded camouflage fitted to the prototype, but looking at the areas that they have made a great effort to cover, we’d guess that’s the first place to start looking.
At the front end, we think that the bumper has been restyled, mainly to incorporate the redesigned fog lights. We also expect to see redesigned headlamps and a new grille. Most manufacturers choose this route as an easy update, you can pretty much guarantee that if a manufacturer is updating their vehicle, this will be the very first change planned.
2018 Kia Soul EV
Kia Soul EV 2018 is a full electric vehicle, made on the basis of standard crossover. The range is likely to be enlarged from the 93 miles up to 120 mark, which is equivalent to the first generation Leaf - it's a good level. The powertrain itself is likely to remain the same.
2018 Kia Soul Specs
Under the hood, we think that Kia will run with the same engine choices, although they may tweak them slightly to see if they can gain any performance or economy benefit, this means that the base model will get a 1.6 liter 4-cylinder gas motor with 120 BHP and 118 lb/ft of torque, while the higher spec models will get a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder gas motor with 164 BHP and 151 lb/ft of torque – nothing world shattering, but enough to make it usable. The 2018 Kia Soul AWD and Turbo modifications are also expected.
The base model will have a 6-speed manual transmission, whereas the higher spec versions will have the option for a 6-speed manual.
Not much will change on the inside, perhaps a different choice of trim materials, maybe a slightly larger touchscreen infotainment system, but on the whole, it’s going to be what we see now.
