2018 Audi RS3 the Sporty Beast With Sedan and Sportback Body
The next generation 2018 Audi RS3 promises much; a small sedan, stuffed with technology and pacing an even bigger punch, perhaps as much as 400 BHP.
Audi are perhaps among the best of the sporty high-end manufacturers; their cars are invariably fast, well-equipped, handle well and look good as well. In times gone by, if you wanted a fast, stylish and well-equipped German car, you’d have picked either BMW or Mercedes-Benz. However, over the last few years, Audi have really upped their game to compete head-to-head with those manufacturers.
2018 Audi RS3 Redesign and Changes
The RS3 has a sporty and aggressive look, and thanks to its power plant, the performance matches the look. Updated for the 2018 model, gone is the old 367 BHP cast iron cylinder blocked engine, to be replaced with an all-aluminum 400 BHP 5-cylinder turbocharged engine. Coupled with a double clutch S-Tronic 7-speed auto transmission, it should be capable of a 4 second zero to sixty time and go on to an approximate top speed of 174 MPH, although of course, it is more than likely to be electronically limited to 155 MPH.
2018 Audi RS3 Sedan
Sedan will be the basic version of RS3, as the most suitable bodytype for such car. As you could see on the pictures, it has aggressive styling. Large wheel arches with 20-inch rims, rear diffusor with oval exhaust pipes; front spoiler and large air intakes with mesh. The car is a pure aggressor, designed to conquer racetracks and public roads.
2018 Audi RS3 Sportback
The appearance of 2018 Audi RS3 hatchback version rumors are fluctuating for quite a long time, but there are no clues for the actual release date of 'short' Sportback version of the RS3.
2018 Audi RS3 Price
Given that Audi won’t specify, we can only speculate as to what the price will be for the RS3, we’ve seen rumors suggesting something as low as $42,000 and prices as high as $65,000. Truthfully, we don’t actually know, but we think it will be somewhere in-between, around the $50,000 bracket for 2018 Audi RS3 USA price.
2018 Audi RS3 Release date
Audi are remaining very tight-lipped about the release date (and any technical specifications) but from what we understand (and given that Audi have been seen testing the RS3 at the Nurburgring recently), we expect to see the new 2018 Audi RS3 released by the end of 2017, perhaps just in the early part of 2018. The 2018 Audi RS3 Canada release date will be nearly in the same period of time.
2018 Audi RS3 Interior
The interior of RS3 is typical for any else RS-edition of Audi cars. The recipe is simple - add bucket seats, D-shape steering wheel, more alcantara and the sporty interior of Audi is done. The first 2018 Audi RS3 review shows that this wasn't changed.
2018 Audi RS3 Specs
There is also talk of Audi offering a performance tuned Quattro system, specifically for the RS3, this would be able to send 100% of the power to the rear wheels if so desired.
The new model will be built upon the Volkswagen MQB platform, which it would share with the A3, S3, TT line and other VW models – we know that the platform works well, in terms of ride and handling, it would be the logical choice for Audi.
Looks wise, we expect a very similar looking vehicle, although we’ve heard that Audi are going to introduce a bigger grille and slightly redesigned fenders with larger air intakes (which would make sense given that Audi are updating the engine as well). 2018 Audi RS3 weight will be again decreased in comparison with the standard S3 (and A3, obviously) but no one knows yet on what extend.
Undoubtedly, the 2018 Audi RS3 0-60 time will be spectacular - around 5 seconds or even less.
