2018 Audi Q7 vs 2018 VW Atlas - Who Will Win?

More brand new cars are on the way. These are the models known as 2018 Audi Q7 and 2018 Volkswagen Atlas. So let’s compare them.

The exterior brutality

The new body of 2018 Audi Q7 has become smoother with elegant lines. To some extent its headlamps and bumper bring us back to the generation of 2015. The grille itself has stayed rather unchanged but it gives this vehicle an unmistakable appearance. The car has become significantly shorter.

As for 2018 Atlas it is said to be the one of the largest vehicles among Volkswagen's new models. In differ from Audi this car will feature a crisp design with sharp lines and angles.

There are more changes observed in the rear part of 2018 Audi Q7. It comes with a unique bumper and reshaped taillights which have become smaller this time.

In the meantime Atlas shares a lot of things with the five-seat Touareg. It also boasts about all LED headlamps which are basic now however LED tail lamps are still optional.

Interior - who is bigger there?

Proceeding to the inner part, 2018 Audi Q7 still has plenty of space inside even though its body is smaller. You can also enjoy a new cooling system which can be operated with fewer switches.

As for new Atlas, it has three rows and provides a lot of space too. The vehicle uses Volkswagen’s Car-Net infotainment system. It is promised that certain trims will come with a full LCD instrument cluster.

Engine - VW stays the same

The updated Audi Q7 is going to be released with a choice of engines. There will be two gas units of 2.0 litres and a 3.0 litres. Both of them are of V6 type. The former one’s productivity is estimated as much as 252 horsepower and 272 lb-ft of torque. The latter one is aid to output 333 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque.

As for the speed, there’re assumptions that 2018 Audi Q7 sprints from 0 to 60 in 6.1 seconds. Its top speed is estimated as much as 155 MPH.

What's under the hood of 2018 Atlas? It’s not a big surprise. Standard models are equipped with 2.0-liter gasoline unit of turbocharged type. It generates 238 horsepower. It is said to be paired to FWD only.

You can optionally get 3.6-litre V6 engine good for 280 horsepower. It will come with FWD as standard and will AWD as an option. Both of these engines are paired to 8-speed automatic transmission.
