The New Acura RLX in 2018 might get a new powertrain and NSX-like front end
We all know that Acura is the luxury arm of Honda, just as we have Infiniti, Lexus and Genesis etc, the new 2018 Acura RLX is already in the production process and promises to be stunning.
The existing RLX is already a great selling sedan, it looks great, goes well, is practical and of course being Acura, is super reliable. We think the RLX is so much better than many domestic manufacturers vehicles.
When And How Much?
Acura have released no information at all regarding the new 2018 Acura RLX, information is quite scarce but we believe that it should be on sale in the latter part of 2017, maybe just going in to 2018 if there are even slight delays.
Again, we can only really hazard a guess regarding the price – knowing what the current model sells for and what the market will stand leads us to think that the 2018 version will hit the showrooms with a selling price of around $50,000 for the base model, that could raise to over $60,000 for a loaded version.
Minor Upgrades For The 2018 Acura RLX
The current Acura RLX is still a very good looking car, and it’s thought that Acura will give the 2019 version a complete revamp, from top to tail, so it’s more than likely that Acura will settle for minor upgrades and modifications for the 2018 version.
First off, the old favorites will get an update; headlamps and tail lights will be all LED and slightly redesigned, the front and rear bumpers will be updated and we think it’s more than likely that the grille will get a facelift – all relatively minor changes but make a significant difference to the overall look of the vehicle.
We think that Acura will stick with the 3.5 liter V6 motor – it produces over 300 BHP and around 270 lb/ft of torque so it’s no slouch, but perhaps Acura will tweak the tuning to give better economy, although of course, you can only go so far and still retain performance.
The Acura has always been the standard bearer when it comes to quality and luxury.
The leather upholstery is high quality and finished with fine detailing, as is the leather wrapped steering wheel. We should also see a new LCD screen in the dashboard, where all controls for the infotainment systems and comfort features will be accessed.
All in all, the new Acura RLX will carry on being the car that everyone wants.
