2018 Lincoln MKZ Expect a Minor Upgrade

The 2018 Lincoln MKZ will be the third generation of this popular sedan. Lincoln is the luxury end of the Ford Motor Company (FoMoCo) and the while a great deal of the offerings are recognizably Ford, Lincoln is a separate brand altogether.

The overall shape isn’t expected to change much from the previous model but we think the detailing will be upgraded to set this new 2018 model apart from the others, and of course, the competition.

Lincoln have remained quite secretive about the new model, although as with most new cars, there is a great deal of speculation on the internet; we’ve brought the most likely of that speculation here.

The main rivals are Audi A4, BMW 3-series, Buick Regal.

2018 Lincoln MKZ Release date

Development is well underway, but even so, that process is long and time consuming, so we don’t think that we’ll see the new 2018 MKZ before late 2017, perhaps a debut at the Detroit Auto Show before being rolled out in to the dealerships.

2018 Lincoln MKZ release date: late 2017

2018 Lincoln MKZ Price

Lincoln need to keep the pricing competitive against its rivals, our sources say that the new Lincoln MKZ 2018 should start in the region of $35,000 for the base model.

2018 Lincoln MKZ Redesign and changes

As is the way with all manufacturers, reduction in weight is a key area that needs concentrating on; it helps with emissions, ride quality and handling – three key areas for all vehicles, even more so as emission controls are getting tighter.

On the exterior, we think there are going to be minor changes, mainly centered around the rear end, headlamps and front grille. Don't expect a 2018 Lincoln MKZ redesign

2018 Lincoln MKZ Specs

Under the hood, we believe that Lincoln are going to lose the 3.7 V6 gas engine in favour for a 3.0 liter V6 turbo, this should be good enough for 400 BHP. The lower end models are more than likely to have a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbo engine with a power output of about 245 BHP, although some sources say that it may be a 2.3 liter EcoBoost turbo, as used in the Lincoln MKC SUV. All models will be fitted with an auto transmission.

2018 Lincoln MKZ Interior and Equipment

Inside the cabin, we’ll see better trim levels and equipment, stylish wood and metal detailing and superior leather upholstery.

Depending on the exact specification, the 2018 MKZ will get a good level of equipment offered, this will include Pre-Collision Assistance, Pedestrian Detection, Park Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control. Of course, we’ll also have the usual level of other toys that you’d expect to find in a luxury vehicle – Bluetooth, 4G LTE Wi-Fi, USB port and touchscreen infotainment system.
