2018 Yukon Denali is the full-size premium SUV from GMC
The full-size Yukon SUV isn’t that pretty, but despite this, it’s still quite a popular model. Perhaps it’s the overall appearance, the luxury trim levels or just the space.
Regardless of the looks, GMC are updating this large SUV for the next generation, but it’s thought that they won’t be upgrading the style or design that much; just minor improvements to some of the panels.
It also seems as though they won’t be upgrading the engine choices either; the 5.3 liter 355 BHP or the 6.3 liter 420 BHP V8’s are set to stay as is.
So it seems that GMC aren’t really planning on updating that much of the Yukon, read on for further details about what will be changed.
The main rival for the SUV in premium segment is Lincoln Navigator.
2018 GMC Yukon Release date
Despite only carrying out minor modifications and updates, GMC are pretty secretive about when to expect this ‘new’ version. We think it could be as late as December 2017, perhaps even early 2018.

Expect to see prices similar to the current range, except for maybe a slight increase due to inflation. This would mean that the GMC Yukon 2018 will start at around $50,000 and go on to somewhere near $60,000 ish.
Here is detailed pricing for each modification (estimated):
GMC Yukon: $46,000;
GMC Yukon Denali: $66,000;

GMC Yukon XL Denali: $69,000.

2018 GMC Yukon Redesign
Despite keeping the same power plants, GMC will fit their new 8-speed auto transmission in the new Yukon, power will be sent to either the rear wheels, or the optional all-wheel drive layout. We also know that the new Yukon will be built upon the new k2UG platform, which should help the Yukon lose a bit of weight, which in turn will help with gas mileage and handling. 2018 Yukon diesel is not expected in the lineup.
Along with those minor 2018 GMC Yukon changes, you couldn't call it a redesign. We think that the new SUV will have an updated front grille, restyled front and rear bumpers, modified headlamps (LED) and restyled tail lamps. The body work is expected to remain pretty much the same, although some have said that the new 2018 Yukon will look a little sportier, but that could just be down to the stance it holds on the road.
2018 Yukon Denali
Traditionally, the Denali versions of GMC vehicles provides special level of comfort and lots of improved details, such as noise isolation, special glassing, etc. The GMC Yukon Denali 2018 won't be an exception. It features ventilated and heated front power seats, improved upholstery materials and many more. We don't expect any 2018 Yukon Denali changes, it's release date expected in the same period of time as a standard SUV.
2018 GMC Yukon XL
Just like the Escalade and Suburban, sharing the same GM platform, Yukon has enlarged version. Actually, there is almost nothing to say about the XL, it has only very minor differences in comparison with its 'short' brother. 2018 Yukon Denali XL is the most comfortable version among the model line. 2018 Yukon XL Denali version has everything standard Denali has, but thanks to stretched body length, it provide excellent level of comfort.
2018 GMC Yukon Equipment
As regards equipment, GMC have to think about the competition; with this in mind, we think that they will add quite a lot as standard, but there will of course be numerous options as well. Expect to see front and rear facing cameras, GMC IntelliLink, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, satellite radio, dynamic park assist, lane assist and a reasonably sized (7”) touchscreen control for the infotainment system of Yukon 2018 model year.
