2018 Ford Edge will be available in Australia
The 2018 Ford Edge is a mid-size SUV crossover that was first introduced in 2006. While rumors say that Ford boss, Graeme Whickman announced that the new 2018 model will sit at the top of Ford’s SUV range, the current model sits between the Escape and the Everest.
Although extremely similar to the Ford Territory, Ford claim that the new Edge isn’t a replacement Territory, rather a brand new, standalone SUV, having said that, the dimensions are almost identical to the Territory.
Although there is a reasonable amount of knowledge regarding this new version, there still seems to be some speculation, in particular with regards to prices and release dates.
2018 Ford Edge Release date
Rumors have the release date for the new Ford Edge 2018 anywhere between mid-2017 and summertime of 2018. In reality, we think it will be somewhere in between; perhaps an unveiling in mid-2017 with full production and sales happening later the same year.
2018 Ford Edge Price
Again, rumors vary by as much as $20,000, but given that we do know that Ford are intending it to sit above the Kuga (which starts at just under $30,000), we’d expect to see prices starting at around $37,000.
2018 Ford Edge Redesign and changes
Will 2018 Ford Edge change? The overall style hasn’t changed that much for this third generation model, minor restyling with the bumpers, grille and headlamps, but it’s lost a bit of weight, thanks to the use of aluminum and composites in the bodywork.
Surprisingly, the U.S. won’t get the 7-seat version, that is only going to the Asian market, but for the five-seats that are there, they’ll be trimmed in leather and of course, heated and power adjustable.
2018 Ford Edge Titanium
Titanium is a Ford Edge 2018 model year the comfort-oriented trim level. The car has a wide equipment list, including push button start, rear view camera, dual zone climate control, metal brushed exhaust pipes, premium 12-speaker audio system, driver seat with memory function and ambilight lighting.
2018 Ford Edge Sport
The Sport version of 2018 Ford Edge changes only little. It is still the most pricey version of the car, equipped with the most powerful 2.7 V6 turbocharged engine. The car has exactly the same level of equipement as Titanium trim level, but the styling is different - new matte black grille, trapezoid-shaped exhaust pipes.

2018 Ford Edge Specs
Under the hood, again there are rumors, but from what we know, the U.S. will get two engine choices, both gas rather than diesel. There will be a 4-cylinder, 2.0 liter producing around 245 BHP and a 2.7 liter V6 turbo which should just break the 300 BHP mark. All engines will be coupled to a 6-speed auto transmission which will drive either just the two front wheels or you’ll have the option for an all-wheel drive version.
2018 Ford Edge reviews show that it is more than enough for city and highway driving.

Many of these functions will be controllable through the touchscreen infotainment system.
